MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SLOAN DIGITAL SKY SURVEY OF THE ASTROPHYSICAL RESEARCH CONSORTIUM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to enable New Mexico state university to participate in the Sloan digital sky survey of the astrophysical research consortium. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
