MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHARTER SCHOOLS STIMULUS FUND TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR START-UP OR CONVERSION CHARTER SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five million dollars ($5,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the charter schools stimulus fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide financial support to start-up or conversion charter schools. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall not revert to the general fund.
