MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO PROVIDE FOR A PARENTING SKILL BUILDING PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Thirty-seven thousand dollars ($37,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide for a parenting skill building program in Albuquerque. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.

B. The program shall be developed for Spanish-speaking and Latino-origin parents and shall be respectful of the unique traditions and customs of Latino families and sensitive to the variety of adjustments that are made as Latino families acculturate to life in the United States.
