Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 240

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 2, line 3, strike "means" and insert in lieu thereof "includes but is not limited to".

2. On page 2, line 13, after the word "when", delete the comma and insert in lieu thereof "he knows or reasonably should know that a child is likely to gain access to the handgun without the lawful permission of the child's parent or guardian or a person in charge of the child and".

3. On page 2, line 20, after the word "when", delete the comma and insert in lieu thereof "he knows or reasonably should know that a child is likely to gain access to the handgun without the lawful permission of the child's parent or guardian or a person in charge of the child and".

4. On page 3, line 3, after the word "when", delete the comma and insert in lieu thereof "he knows or reasonably should know that a child is likely to gain access to the handgun without the lawful permission of the child's parent or guardian or a person in charge of the child and".

5. On page 3, line 13, after the word "himself" insert "or a family member".
