MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ACEQUIA AND COMMUNITY DITCH FUND TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO ACEQUIA AND COMMUNITY DITCH ASSOCIATIONS INVOLVED IN ADJUDICATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the acequia and community ditch fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 to provide assistance to acequia and community ditch associations involved in the adjudication process. No more than five percent of the appropriation may be expended by the New Mexico department of agriculture for administrative costs incurred in the administration of the fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
