MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER INSTRUCTION AND GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Five million thirty-eight thousand one hundred dollars ($5,038,100) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2002 for the following instruction and general education purposes in the following amounts:
(1) six hundred forty-three thousand dollars ($643,000) to expand college of nursing enrollment;
(2) four hundred ninety-four thousand eight hundred dollars ($494,800) to extend nursing faculty salaries to a twelve-month year;
(3) five hundred seventy-three thousand four hundred dollars ($573,400) for salary market adjustments for the nursing faculty and the information technology staff;
(4) two hundred forty-six thousand dollars ($246,000) to the occupational therapy and physical therapy master's degree programs;
(5) seven hundred ninety-six thousand four hundred dollars ($796,400) for specialty education in pediatrics;
(6) seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) for specialty education in trauma, critical care and emergency care;
(7) three hundred seventy-eight thousand nine hundred dollars ($378,900) for health sciences library collections; and
(8) one million one hundred fifty-five thousand six hundred dollars ($1,155,600) for unavoidable costs, including utilities, information technology maintenance, group insurance and safety, health and environmental affairs.
B. Any unexpended or encumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
