SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Joint Memorial 7 requests the State Parks Division (SPD) of the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) to conduct a feasibility study and assist in the development of master facility plans for the Dona Ana Educational Camp and Recreational Park in Chaparral in Dona Ana County.
Significant Issues
The memorial proposes to use the SPD expertise in park management and development to assist Dona Ana County in creating an alternative recreational park for youth to attend.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Senate Joint Memorial 7 does not contain an appropriation, however, enactment would impose a minor fiscal impact on SPD, who would be required to provide staff support to Dona Ana County in this process. However, the staff support could be absorbed by the existing resources of the division. Additionally, this project may meet the criteria for funding under the Youth Conservation Corps program, also under the EMNRD.
