REQUESTING THE NEW MEXICO LOTTERY AUTHORITY BOARD TO INNOVATE METHODS TO INCREASE NET LOTTERY RECEIPTS.
WHEREAS, the net receipts from the New Mexico state lottery, forty percent of which is distributed to the lottery tuition fund, will be insufficient in the very near future to provide lottery tuition scholarships to those students who are eligible for them; and
WHEREAS, there may be methods by which the lottery's net receipts may be increased through marketing, new games or decreasing overhead;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the New Mexico lottery authority board be requested to review the current operation of the lottery and innovate methods by which the lottery's net receipts may be increased; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the New Mexico lottery authority board.
