SUMMARY



Synopsis of Bill



Senate Bill 397 provides that there shall be four magistrate divisions in the San Juan magistrate district (one for each judge) operating as two separate courts in Farmington and Aztec. The bill states that magistrates in this district shall not be elected at large from the district, but from the division for which the magistrate sits. San Juan magistrates will have district-wide jurisdiction.
