SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
This bill appropriates $1,500.0 from the general fund to the Board of Regents of the Eastern New Mexico University to continue the Re:Learning program to support school improvement in all grades of public schools statewide.
Significant Issues
According to the SDE, this program has been funded since 1988, leveraging considerable funding from private sources.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $1,500.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY01 shall revert to the general fund.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
The SDE suggest the appropriation be made to the SDE as has been done in the past.
