SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
SB265 appropriates $300.0 in general fund to AODA in FY2001 to fund existing and new forensic evaluation programs (children's safehouses) across the state.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
This bill appropriates $300.0 in general fund which is a 90.5% increase over the current year budget of $157.5. AODA has administered these monies for the past three years and presently oversees eight programs funded at $19.7 each. The agency reported respective decreases in funding from a high of $200.0 in FY98, to $175.0 in FY99, to $157.5 in FY2000. Consequently, it may be difficult to maintain existing safehouses or add new programs without sufficient appropriations.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
SB265 poses minimal impact as AODA has been administering the forensic evaluation program for the past three years.
