SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 247 repeals Section 34-1-9 NMSA 1978 and creates a new statutory salary schedule for judges and justices.
Significant Issues
Senate Bill 247 would no longer allow for the salaries of judges and justices to be established in an appropriations act. Instead, the legislature would be required to pass discrete legislation each year to establish these salaries.
