Synopsis of Bill



This bill would extend the Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine to July 1, 2005. This board is currently required to cease operations on July 1, 2000.



Significant Issues



The agency life of this board must be extended to provide continuity in regulation and licensing of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine practices in the state.



FISCAL IMPLICATIONS



This board is fully self-supported through fees generated by licensing the profession. There is no General Fund fiscal implication.



ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS



If the board ceases operations July 1, 2000, one FTE will be eliminated.
