SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
The bill appropriates $224.0 to the Department of Health (DOH) to contract for school-based mentoring programs for at-risk children attending public schools in Bernalillo, Santa Fe, Rio Arriba and Taos counties.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The bill appropriates $224.0 in general fund in FY01 to DOH for a recurring program.
DOH indicates it could absorb the significant costs of administering this program. However, it indicates the program costs include training, coordination, administration and oversight and does not include paying the mentors.
