SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 340 0340R

STATE OF NEW MEXICO

44TH LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION - 2000

REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN SOCORRO COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

to the state highway and transportation department

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to acquire land and conduct easement research for the purpose of expanding roads in Socorro county; and

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to upgrade and improve the bridge in Scholle county road above the Abo arroyo in the northeast area of Socorro county;

to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to plan, design and construct a public crossing at the Sabinal railroad crossing in Socorro county;

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to complete the renovation and expansion of the Socorro county courthouse;

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to fund a feasibility study for asbestos survey and abatement for demolition of the old Socorro general hospital in Socorro county;

three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to plan, design and construct the northern Abeytas and Sabinal community center in Socorro county;

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to renovate and improve the Socorro county building; and

thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) to construct basketball courts, an amphitheater, shelter and storage facilities and to purchase barbeque equipment for Clarke field in the city of Socorro in Socorro county; and

to the office of the state engineer

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for flood control in Socorro county.
