FOR EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS PURCHASE AND UPGRADES THROUGHOUT THE

STATE.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

to the department of public safety

one hundred seventeen thousand dollars ($117,000) from the state road fund to replace the vehicle scale at the department of public safety's Gallup port of entry;

fifty-seven thousand dollars ($57,000) to purchase a forensic document examination system for the crime laboratory;

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to purchase two gas chromatograph and mass spectrometer systems;

one hundred twenty-two thousand dollars ($122,000) to purchase and install a fourier transform infrared microscope for the crime laboratory;

three million dollars ($3,000,000) to purchase a new helicopter; and

two million two hundred forty-seven thousand dollars ($2,247,000) to purchase and install digital radios and related equipment;

to the general services department

two million dollars ($2,000,000) to purchase new vehicles; and

to the taxation and revenue department

four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) to purchase furnishings and equipment for motor vehicle field offices statewide;

one million two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000) to purchase imaging data capture hardware and software;

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to purchase driver vision screening and testing equipment for motor vehicle division field offices statewide;

seventy-eight thousand dollars ($78,000) to purchase driver license testing equipment for motor vehicle division field offices statewide;

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to purchase equipment to implement electronic commerce;

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to replace remittance processing equipment and software;

four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) to replace computer equipment; and

twenty-eight thousand dollars ($28,000) to purchase equipment to implement electronic commerce.
