HOUSE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 396

STATE OF NEW MEXICO

44TH LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION - 2000

REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN SOCORRO COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

to the state agency on aging

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to re-roof and make improvements, including compliance with uniform building codes and to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, at the Magdalena senior center in Socorro county;

to the state highway and transportation department

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for acquisition of land and easement research for various roads in Socorro county;

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to upgrade the bridge railing and remove the channel debris at pier 4 on Scholle county road and Abo arroyo in the northeast area of Socorro county;

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to plan and design a public railroad crossing with bars and lights in Sabinal in Socorro county;

to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to complete the courthouse renovation project in Socorro county;

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for a feasibility study for an asbestos survey, abatement for demolition or usage of the old general hospital in Socorro county;

three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to plan, design and construct a community center in northern Abeytas in Socorro county;

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for expansion and improvements to the county building, including compliance with uniform building codes and to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, in Socorro county;

to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs

thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) to plan and renovate the softball field at the Alamo reservation in Socorro county; and

to the office of the state engineer

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to provide for erosion control in Socorro county.
