AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO VETERANS' SERVICE COMMISSION TO CONTRIBUTE STATE FUNDS TO THE WOMEN IN MILITARY SERVICE FOR AMERICA MEMORIAL LOCATED IN THE ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY, WHICH IS A TRIBUTE TO ALL WOMEN WHO HAVE DEFENDED AMERICA THROUGHOUT HISTORY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico veterans' service commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to contribute state funds to the women in military service for America memorial located in the Arlington national cemetery. The women in military service for America memorial is a tribute to all women and the nation's only major national memorial honoring all women who have defended America throughout history. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
