MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT TO SUPPORT A TAOS COUNTY SAFE WATER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR INDIGENT AND LOW-INCOME PERSONS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of environment for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to contract for services with a nonprofit organization to support a Taos county safe water assistance program for indigent and low-income persons. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
