AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A STATEWIDE DENTAL EDUCATION CAREER LADDER PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to establish dental career ladder education programs at the following institutions in the following amounts:

(1) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for a dental auxiliary education program at the Dona Ana branch community college in Dona Ana county;

(2) one hundred two thousand dollars ($102,000) to the governing board of San Juan college in San Juan county for a dental auxiliary education program at the college; and

(3) ninety-eight thousand dollars ($98,000) to the governing board of the San Juan college in San Juan county to develop a statewide dental education career ladder program at various community and branch colleges throughout New Mexico.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
