Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 453

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, strike lines 18 through 20 and insert in lieu thereof:

"For registration of vehicles subject to the registration fees imposed by Sections 66-6-2 and 66-6-4 NMSA 1978, there is imposed an additional fee of two dollars ($2.00) for each twelve-month period for which a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight under twenty-six thousand pounds is registered.".

2. On page 4, line 13, after the semi-colon insert "and".

3. On page 4, strike lines 14 through 22 and insert in lieu thereof:

"(e) an amount equal to the registration fees collected pursuant to Section 66-6-6.1 NMSA 1978 for the purposes of enforcing the provisions of the Mandatory Financial Responsibility Act and for creating and maintaining a multi-language non-commercial drivers license testing program.".

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
