MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO CONTRACT FOR THE PROVISION OF TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of contracting for the provision of training programs for community oriented policing and to staff a mobile resource center to be used to conduct the training programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
