AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE TORRANCE COUNTY FARM AND LIVESTOCK BUREAU TO DEVELOP CURRICULUM FOR A HIGH SCHOOL NEW MEXICO HISTORY COURSE FOCUSED ON THE SETTLEMENT OF THE LOWER ESTANCIA VALLEY FROM PRE-COLUMBIAN TIMES THROUGH THE MODERN ERA.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal years 2026 and 2027 for the Torrance county farm and livestock bureau to develop curriculum for a high school New Mexico history course, to be offered locally, that is focused on the settlement of the lower Estancia valley from pre-Columbian times through the modern era. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2027 shall revert to the general fund.
