SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to SENATE HEALTH AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 87

Amendment sponsored by Senator Craig W. Brandt

    1. On page 1, line 12, strike "SAFETY".

    2. On page 8, line 19, before the semicolon, insert "or paramedic".

    3. On page 8, between lines 23 and 24, insert:

                  "(j) peace officer;".

    4. Reletter the succeeding subparagraphs accordingly.

    5. On page 11, line 20, after "technician", insert "or paramedic" and on line 25, strike "and".

    6. On page 12, line 1, before the semicolon, insert:

"and who serves in a non-management position serving or supporting the delivery of emergency services in a front-line capacity".

    7. On page 12, between lines 14 and 15, insert:

             "(10) "peace officer" means a person who is appointed by the attorney general or district attorney and who is a certified law enforcement officer who investigates and enforces state laws, rules and regulations, including the execution of warrants;".

    8. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.
