AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO CONTRACT WITH COMMUNITY-BASED LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER AND QUEER ORGANIZATIONS TO TRAIN HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS ON LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER AND QUEER HEALTH CARE LAWS, PROVIDER AND PATIENT RIGHTS AND BEST PRACTICES FOR INCLUSIVITY AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AN EDUCATION CAMPAIGN ON HIV PREVENTION AND TESTING.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2025 for contracting with community-based lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer organizations for the following purposes:
(1) training health care providers on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer health care laws, provider and patient rights and best practices for inclusivity; and
(2) implementing an education campaign on HIV prevention and testing awareness.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
